In Pennsylvania, 1,136,400 people are facing hunger – of them, 347,720 are children. Here in our own neighborhood, about 500 people live below the poverty line, nearly 300 adults and children in Bedford qualify for food stamps, and more than 160 families meet the income standards for the government’s free school lunch program. This data tells us how food insecurity is a serious issue affecting our community and friends. Hunger is a problem hunting families across the US, and we should start tackling it, beginning with our neighbors. Therefore, we want to support the Bedford Community Food Pantry and continue to help families in need.
The Bedford Community Food Pantry is a program of the Bedford Lions Club, a nonprofit organization by the IRS. Their Food Drives and volunteering programs have demonstrated their commitment to making a difference. They receive the majority of donations from Hannaford’s, Panera Bread, and the NH Food Bank, but we believe that as a community, we should do our part in ending hunger.
To be part of this effort, simply refer a friend to our offices for a free insurance quote. Afterward, we will issue a $10 donation to the Bedford Community Food Pantry in YOUR name.
